Artist Rachel Carter will talk about her four year project inspired by her Nottingham ancestors in the textiles industry and the Pilgrims who fled the Midlands in 1620 aboard the Mayflower.

The explorations, research and travels have culminated in a new bronze sculpture titled Pilgrim Woman and a major exhibition which is due to open at Lincoln’s The Collection this November.

Rachel has undertaken a series of artist residencies; Nottingham's Industrial Museum, onboard a cargo ship crossing the Atlantic, Harvard Universities Peabody Museum and finally The Pilgrim Monument and Museum in Provincetown, America./p>
