Schubert Piano Sonata in A major, D. 959

On medical advice, Steven Osborne has made a change to his programme. He will perform Schubert's Piano Sonata in A major, D. 959 in place of the Rachmaninov Piano Sonata.

Steven Osborne is one of Britain’s most treasured musicians whose insightful interpretations reveal immense musical depth. His numerous awards include The Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist of the Year and two Gramophone Awards. He is renowned for his interpretations of French music, especially Debussy. Osborne’s recording of Rachmaninov’s Piano Sonata No.1 released on Hyperion earlier this year has received glowing reviews – this is your chance to hear it live.

Osborne works wonders as he renders the monstrously dense textures of the sonata."
