LUMINARIUM UPDATE

The luminarium will be open this weekend. We monitor temperatures regularly in every area of the luminarium.  Following the UK amber warning on Wednesday, we reviewed operational practice and we no longer recommend that babies visit the luminarium; we also ask that pregnant visitors consider whether they'll be comfortable in the indoor heat.

There is now some shade for queuing and some air cooling units inside the structure. It remains hot inside Dodecalis but under the operational limit. Our stewarding team are equipped with water sprays which visitors appreciate. Should the indoor temperature limit be reached we will close the structure (as we did on Thursday for a session).

We completely understand that some visitors may be uncomfortable in the heat, and our box office team will refund tickets should ticket holders make contact in advance of their visit, or when they arrive and decide not to attend.

Please check our social media (@LakesideArts) before visiting.

Yes! Tickets can be purchased on the day online on the link above, or at our box office. Please note, the box office will be busy.

Can I bring my pushchair into the Luminarium?
No, pushchairs must be left in our dedicated secure area, which you will be directed to by one of our front-of-house team.

Where can I get a baby under 18 months ticket?
Baby/under 18-month tickets are free and can be pre-booked by calling our box office. They will also be available to pick up at the entrance to the Luminarium, so you don't need to queue at box office to get one on the day.

Will I have to queue?
Yes, the Luminarium is extremely popular, so you may have to queue for some time before you get to go inside. We aim to have everyone queueing for less than 60 minutes, but this is subject to how popular a timeslot is. Please come prepared for the weather as you will have to queue outside.

What happens if it rains?
The Luminarium is well-equipped for the rain, and will continue as normal. In the case of extreme weather conditions such as heavy downpours or high winds, we may make the decision to close the Luminarium for a brief period- you will be notified of any changes and cancellations.

If I can't make my timeslot, do I get to change it?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to move your timeslot. We can, however, refund your tickets/s and can book you another slot. To get your refund, please contact our box office on 0115 846 7777.
