Our friends from the contemporary cross-genre ensemble, Propellor, gave us a wonderful performance of Loom in March 2020. Writer Jack McNeill had a vision to include dance in his tour. Working with dancer Heather Birley, we are delighted to share their wonderfully moving and atmospheric piece, Body of Water.
Loom (n.) The slow and silent movement of water in a deep pool (Cumbria)
Wonderful, enthralling, mesmerising multi-dimensional sound that breathed in and out and took us with us wherever it went. The dissonances and cadences danced around in the body. Magical." Audience Feedback
The abstract visual elements were quite meditative. Beautiful ensemble playing, melodic, lyrical, jazzy – Reichian in parts. I loved it!" Audience Feedback
