Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – Lakeside Arts joins the nation in mourning

Lakeside Arts, as part of the University of Nottingham community, joins the Royal Family and the nation in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shearer West, has written to the Royal Family expressing condolences at the loss of a national figure who has demonstrated extraordinary devotion to duty in the service of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

This evening’s opening of Michael Forbes’ exhibition Blk This & Blk That … A State of Urgency will go ahead as planned and our buildings will remain open during the 10-day national period of mourning. Lakeside will be closed on the day of the funeral along with the rest of the University of Nottingham.

In consultation with our colleagues at DARKFIELD we have decided to postpone their September/early October residency until March 2023. We will be contacting all ticket holders to make them aware of this change and to offer a full refund. Thank you for your understanding.
