GETTING HERE AND PARKING

The event takes place on The Downs of University Park Campus. This area is quite large, and will be filled with young people, so please take extra time to find the location.

Each band will start performing in the below-marked positions (the three words can be used on What3Words to locate the area), then join in the centre to perform together.

We are delighted to welcome hundreds of parents and visitors to this event and expect campus to be busy. We encourage all of our visitors to use public transport, cycle and walk wherever possible.

The bus to Wollaton Park Gates gets you the closest to the location out of all methods of transportation.

Bus

From City Centre Victoria Centre Stop or Beeston interchange take the 36 (City Centre/University Park loop), alight at Wollaton Park Gates (UN12). Follow the cut-through path into University Park Campus. The Downs are behind Derby and Lincoln halls across the University ring road.

Tram

Avoid the city centre traffic by using one of the seven free Park & Ride sites. Alternatively travel from the tram stop closest to you and get off at University Boulevard. The Downs is a =round a 20 minute walk from this tram stop.

From University Boulevard, head towards the West Entrance and follow the road around until you are opposite the sports pitches. With the pitches on your right, turn left and walk past the halls, The Downs will be directly in front of you.

Cycle

The local area is well-served by cycle routes with covered parking spaces available outside the Djanogly Gallery, subject to demand. More information on cycling is available from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham City Council websites.

Car Parking 

All University Park Campus car parks are free and unrestricted after 4pm on weekday evenings.

All car parks will require walking for some distance to get to The Downs. We encourage you to enter via the North or South Entrances to easily access the car parks. Please avoid the West Entrance as this is expected to be busy. 

The nearest campus car parks to The Downs are located:

-  Main Visitor Carpark behind the Clive Granger building (no.16)
- School of Pharmacy Carpark (no.23)
- Limited parking at Lincoln Hall (J)
- Lakeside Arts Oval and Strip car parks (no.49)

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a large-scale event with over 300 students attending the event. Each band will perform at the same time in different locations around The Downs, then congregate in the centre of the area to perform together. On the map above you will be able to see where each band will be located. 

We will not be providing refreshments, so please bring your own but please do not bring alcohol. 

There will not be any seating available, you are welcome to sit on the grass. 

There will be toilets on site for all to use. 

TICKETS

Thank you for booking a ticket for this event and letting us know you will be attending. In the event of inclement weather requiring the event to be cancelled, we will be in contact with all bookers. 

INFORMATION FOR PERFORMERS

If your area band is taking part, please arrive at your meeting point at 4.30pm for a rehearsal before the performance.

Please speak to your school teacher to find out whether your child will be travelling to the Downs with their school, or whether they will be meeting their teacher there.
