The Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham teaches and researches a wide range of topics from early human evolution to post-medieval buildings, via Ancient Greece and Rome. We offer teaching at undergraduate, MA and PhD level in both Classics and Archaeology, as well as joint honours undergraduate courses with History, Geography, History of Art, English, and Philosophy.

HANNAH O'REGAN'S TALK – BEARS IN BRITAIN: AN UNTOLD STORY
Hannah O'Regan has been researching bears in Britain. When did bears live in Britain? What is the link between bears and Shakespeare? When (and why) did people put bear’s grease on their heads? All these topics and more will be covered in her talk.
